Airframe and Powerplant (A&P)
If you want to jump-start a career in aircraft repair, the Redstone College Airframe and Powerplant program may be a great option. This A&P associate degree program is certified by the Federal Aviation Administration in accordance with 14CFR Part 147, and can help prepare you to take the FAA A&P certification exam in just 18 months. Classes often take place in simulated work environments where you’ll benefit from a hands-on approach and work with skilled faculty members who will help you learn to:

  • maintain, repair and conduct tests to ensure airplanes are safe for flying
  • inspect aviation components to determine potential problems
  • analyze descriptions of aircraft issues, locate causes and make required repairs

Avionics
The Redstone College avionics program offers a fast-track approach that can help you develop the technical skills employers seek in this field in just 15 months. You’ll develop this expertise in our labs where you’ll enjoy a simulated work environment offering an emphasis on the most critical troubleshooting skills. You’ll be trained by professionals with experience who will ground you in basic electronics theory that you can apply to an entry-level career in areas like wind energy or avionics. At Redstone, you’ll study essential avionics concepts in classes that address topics such as:

  • solid state electronics

Heating/Ventilation/Air Conditioning (HVAC)
